LONG STORY
SHORT
1. But you don't have your email password on your computer, do you? 🧐
Just as important as your IS or email password is keeping your devices secure. PINs, passwords, and biometrics (fingerprints or facial scans) protect against unwanted snooping into your privacy.
2. Updates against misuse 🆕
One of Murphy's computer laws states that every non-trivial program contains at least one bug. By keeping your applications and operating system up to date, you reduce the chance of attackers exploiting any of these bugs.
3. There are only two types of people... 👩🏼🤝👩🏾
... those who have already lost their data and those who are yet to lose it. If you back up regularly, you won't be caught off guard by a disk failure or a broken phone.
4. Automate and forgot 🤖
By setting up automatic updates and backups, not only will your data be a little safer, but you won't even have to think about it anymore. Well, with one small exception...
5. Restart your computer from time to time 💻
If you have a Windows computer, it's a good idea to restart it at least once a week. It's like an instant cleansing treatment for your computer. Plus, it usually completes the installation of new updates.

Our take:
- Don't use gestures, as they can be easily observed.

- If possible, prefer biometrics—fingerprint or face scan (Face ID).
- Protect your laptop with a passphrase, but don't use the same one as your password manager!
