Practical tips for keeping devices safe at work and at home.

The workshop focuses on practical security of personal devices of Masaryk University employees using modern security tools and procedures. Participants will learn how to effectively protect their devices and data from cyber threats in both professional and private environments. Emphasis will be placed on the use of password managers, multi-factor authentication, secure connection to the university network and protection of email communication.

Training Content​

  • Password management

    Practical use of password managers for securely storing and creating strong passwords.

  • Multi-Factor authentication (MFA)

    Setting up and using MFA at MU to protect against phishing attacks.

  • Secure network connection

    Using a VPN for encrypted connections outside the MU campus network.

  • Email security

    Implementing a personal certificate to secure email communications at MU.

All you need is an interest in the topic. For the in-person format, simply arrive at the training venue with your devices. No entry tests or specific prior knowledge are required.

Yes, you will receive a reminder about the event one week before the training.

At the end of each training, you will receive a summary presentation and additional supporting materials to help you further explore the topics that interested you.
