October is Cybersecurity Month, and it is also when we mark World Mental Health Day. To coincide with it, the Student Advisory Centre is holding Wellbeing Days on 8–9 October, and we are adding the digital side to taking care of yourself.
After all, digital technology is meant to work for us – helping with the things that matter to us. But it often works the other way round: notifications distract you, websites push you to click and apps collect more than they should. Manipulative design, artificial urgency, hidden options – all of these steer you towards decisions that are not in your interest. And attackers often use the very same tricks to deceive you and get hold of your accounts, data or money.
It doesn’t have to stay that way. You will learn to see through the tricks and set up protection that then works on its own – giving you peace of mind and better security. We will show you how.
