Safer Internet Day

10 Feb 2026 Dávid Magušin

Safer Internet Day (SID) is an international initiative held every February, aimed at promoting safer and more responsible use of online technologies and mobile phones. Every day can be a Safer Internet Day, but today can serve as a reminder to make a change – choose one of our three activities.

  • 1) Create a strong primary password for the IS

A strong password protects your identity and sensitive data from misuse by preventing attackers from accessing your accounts and most private information. By clicking the button, you will be taken to the Cyber Compass course, where you will learn how to create a secure and strong password.

  • 2) Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) in the IS

Multi-factor authentication acts as a second lock – even if someone steals your password, they cannot access your data without confirmation on your mobile device. By clicking the button, you will be taken to the Masaryk University Information System website, where you can find a video guide for activating MFA.

  • 3) Attend the online training “Digital Scams and Manipulation” (in Czech only)

The training will teach you how to recognize phishing, scams, and other online threats before they become a problem. By clicking the button, you will be taken to the registration page for the online training.
